Smell gas?
If you can smell gas, get everyone outside first. No flames, and do not touch light switches or anything electrical. If it is safe to reach, turn the gas off at the meter. Once you are outside, call 000 if there is any immediate danger, otherwise call us.
The paperwork
Gas installation work is tested, and a compliance certificate is issued where the Victorian rules require one. Servicing an existing appliance is recorded differently. Either way, keep what you are given with the house papers. It is the thing an insurer or a buyer's inspector will ask for.
